The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower commands a prominent place in the list of historical and beautiful buildings in and around San Antonio.  Erected in 1931 by the thousands of friends of the Little Flower through the efforts of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers,  the Shrine stands as a memorial to the universal devotion in which St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus is held.  These stained glass windows are being restored by the Cavallini Stained Glass Studios.

Beautifully Restored Sunset Depot Stained Glass Window
Measuring 16 feet across, this restored stained glass window serves as one of the premier landmarks for the Southern Pacific Depot building which is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Sunset Station is now an energetic entertainment complex set in the historic backdrop of a turn of the century train station.
Constructed in 1902, the original Southern Pacific Depot is one of the main stopping points along the famous Sunset Line route to California.  The depot served as a hub for military personnel who trained in San Antonio and departed to all parts of the world during WWI, WWII and the Korean War.  The depot also welcomed many famous travelers including John Wayne, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Ty Cobb, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Sunset Station:  The Art of Restoration

A team of some of San Antonio's finest craftsmen has been assembled to assure that he Sunset Station is restored to its former glory with as much expertise and authenticity as possible . . . 

Art-glass expert Adrian Cavallini, president of the Cavallini Company founded by his father in 1953, took on the daunting task of recreating a 16-foot-diameter stained-glass window removed from the north end of the depot at an undetermined time in the past and carried away.  Rumor has it that the north window was removed at some unknown time by a Southern Pacific CEO, who took it to his home in California.  The rumor continues that he willed the window to his sister, who was a nun, that upon his death, she had it crated and shipped somewhere in the Northwestern United States, where it sits in a warehouse to this day.

To get an accurate picture of the missing window, which featured the SP emblem, Cavallini spent relentless hours of research.  He finally got a magazine from the SP office in San Francisco with illustrations of the company emblem designs in use between 1892 and 1915.
